Now that Black Friday is almost upon us, and you’re gonna venture out into the wild and get some Christmas gifts, check out some of these games for your gaming fans at home. Not all these games are new, but they dont’t have to be new to be awesome.

#10.GOW Gears of War and Gears of War 2

Buy both. I think that if you want to play GoW2 you are going to have to go through the story in GoW. This is a fantastic game, it’s kinda gory so you may not want to get it for those youngins. The game has good replayability and the Horde mode is fantastic to play online with friends or just get matched up with random people.

#9. Dead-RisingDead Rising

In this game, its about mindless violence, well…not really. Find all kinds of good stuff to do some killing, but the game will take you much deeper into the story than you first think. This game provides a good 72ish hours of good old fashion chainsawing, beating, and killing.

#8. forzaForza 3

I think every video game collection deserves a good racing game. The visuals of this game are fantastic and unlike most racing games, you don’t start with a crappy car. I mean, really, do you want to get a crappy car and play forever to unlock all the good stuff? By the way, this game has over 400 different vehicles to choose from and tons of unlocks.

#7. 851818-dead_space_cover_large Dead Space

This is a good survival horror genre game. The cool thing about this game is that it takes place many years into the future on a space ship. Your character doesn’t have any special training or particular fighting skills. This makes the game a bit more realistic. Just don’t play this one at night, we don’t want you peeing your pants.

#6.41314_Halo3BodyHALO 3

Ok, this game has some age on it, but it so awesome. If you don’t already own it, WTF, seriously go buy it. The story line is good. I would suggest maybe starting with HALO and work your way up to HALO 3 for the story line. The online multiplayer is one of the best out there and the HALO franchise, in my opinion, is what created the online multiplayer experience.

#5.left-4-deadLeft 4 Dead

One of the best zombie games out there. Replayability is extremely high on this game. With the current economic times, you’re going to want to get the most for your money and this game can provide that. While most zombie games will have you try to eliminate the zombie horde, this game will have you just trying to survive. Bring some friends along in with the online multiplayer to help you get the hell outta dodge before your braaaaaiiinsss get eaten!

#4. borderlandsBorderlands

This game has a bizillion different guns to choose from. Its is a hell of a fun shoot and loot game. You’re basically put in an open world and a bunch of bad guys are trying to keep you from killing their leader. Fun multiplayer will have you strategizing with your buddies.

#3. halo_wars2_HALO Wars

While the HALO franchise has been about the run and gun, a none Bungie studio decided to take a stab at something different,  a strategy game. I think what makes this game fun is that its not as complicated as Starcraft, Ages of Empires, or other similar games. I would make it your first RTS.

#2. halo-3-odst-HALO ODST

There is a new co-op mode called firefight, similar to what you would get in GoW horde. Tons of fun and you also get another 6 hours of capaign. You go back to the HALO roots in this game and you don’t get the magical reloading shield and the ability to move a ton of armor 20 feet into the air.

#1.modern-warfare-2 Call of Duty Modern Warfar 2

The campaign is awesome, the multiplayer is current the best I have seen. You need to buy this one, not just for a gift but for yourself. There is a reason why it’s made over $300 million in its opening weekend. Nuff said.
